Oklahoma and Savior, Please

Pennie and I drove to Oklahoma on Friday afternoon.  It is a 3 1/2 hour drive.  It is so green with open fields and lots of trees.  Pennie and Eric have a beautiful home in a small town called Owasso.  Owasso is the Osage Indian word meaning, “end of the trail,” or “turn around.”

One of Owasso’s residents is Garth Brooks.  He is presently married to Trisha Yearwood.
Following Brooks’s divorce, the pair did begin dating, and the couple wed on December 10, 2005, at their home in Oklahoma, marking the second marriage for Brooks and the third for Yearwood. They own houses in Goodlettsville, Tennessee; Malibu, California; and Port St. Lucie, FL, but keep a primary residence at a ranch in Owasso, Oklahoma, a suburb of Tulsa where they live.

A quick update on Dad.  When we called yesterday at 11:00am the nurse who happened to be visiting him said everything was going great.  Dad was eating well and had even walked into the kitchen to eat breakfast which is a first since I’ve been there.

About 3:00pm we got a call from my sister Pat, and she said that Dad was so weak he couldn’t get up and his blood pressure had dropped severely.  An ambulance was called and Dad was admitted into the hospital for extreme dehydration and a bacterial infection in the urine.  Dad was kept overnight and will be kept in the hospital this evening as well.  Pennie and I will drive back to Kansas City tomorrow and pick up Milt and hopefully Kaylin at the airport in the evening.

So again, I must look for strength where I can, so I can face each day during this very difficult time of my life.  My only hope of peace can be found through my Savior and his sacrifice and atonement.  I found this song on You Tube that is called “Savior, Please,” by Josh Wilson.  The music and words are beautiful.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Unfortunately the link on You Tube will not post to my blog.  However, if you go to You Tube and serach for the title, “Savior, Please,” by Josh Wilson you will be able to listen to the video.  It is really worth your time.

Savior, please take my hand
I work so hard, I live so fast
This life begins, and then it ends
And I do the best that I can, but I don’t know how long it’ll last

I try to be so tough
But I’m just not strong enough
I can’t do this alone, God I need You to hold on to me
I try to be good enough
But I’m nothing without Your love
Savior, please keep saving me

Savior, please help me stand
I fall so hard, I fade so fast
Will You begin right where I end
And be the God of all I am because You’re all I have

Hallelujah
Everything You are to me
Is everything I’ll ever need
And I am learning to believe
That I don’t have to prove a thing
‘Cause You’re the one who’s saving me
