We spent a couple of weeks in sunny California with our dear neighbors Bob and Barbara. We had a delightful time together. First we went to Olvera Street where Bob visited many times during his growing up years. We enjoyed eating his favorite food which is the taquitos with a yummy avocado sauce. We went exploring along Olvera Street and soaked in the Mexican history and culture that engulfed us.
The following information was taken from Wikipedia:
“Olvera Street is in the oldest part of Downtown Los Angeles, California, USA, and is part of the El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historic Monument. Many of the Plaza District’s Historic Buildings are on Olvera Street, including the Avila Adobe (1818), the Pelanconi House (1857), and the Sepulveda House (1887). The tree-shaded, pedestrian mall marketplace with craft shops, restaurants and roving troubadours is a popular tourist destination.”
We went to Downtown Disney, California Adventure and Disneyland. We went to San Diego later in the week and enjoyed our favorite pizza restaurant which is called Basic Pizza.
I love going to sunny California. The blue sky, beautiful flowers and plants, the warm temperatures, visiting new places, favorite familiar places and restaurants all make me so happy. I am especially happy when we can spend time with our friends and enjoy each others company. We had a wonderful time and feel very blessed.
